COACH DAN EAKIN

The OG Pepper
Founder, Coach, & Legend

Dan Eakin joined OGSA in 1979 coaching all 4 of his daughters. He was instrumental in building the OGSA complex as President in 1983. Dan has served on the OGSA Board as President/Commissioner for over 30 years. He spearheaded the conversion from T-shirts to full softball uniforms. Dan is also responsible for leading the development at OGSA including two batting cage installations, landscaping, shelter construction, and building the Lone Elm Indoor Facility. His goal is to grow the spirit of OGSA and improve the sports of softball within the Olathe community. Dan has coached the Olathe Express and KC Peppers into local, regional, and national teams. He has organized many skills and pitching clinics over the last 35 years and always strived to help girls become better softball players.

After 41 years of coaching fastpitch softball, Eakin retired from coaching the Peppers. Eakin's list of accomplishments have simply been amazing.

• 150 players went off to play in college

• 44 players earned All-Conference honors

• 1 player played in the Olympics
